AT Performance Cars are thrilled to present this fantastic 3-litre V6 Rocketeer converted Mk1 MX5. The Rocketeer V6 conversion is ideal for driving enthusiasts who want to maintain the Mazda MX-5's lightweight, agile nature while significantly enhancing its performance and auditory experience. It's a more unique alternative to forced induction and aligns with the Mazda's ethos of "Jinba Ittai" (the unity of horse and rider). This turn-key, drive in/drive out conversion carried out by Bruce at Rocketeer is a comprehensive upgrade and we believe one of the best examples available in the UK, accompanied with invoices totalling upwards of £35,000 for the build carried out in 2023, the total cost for this project exceeded £50,000. Not to be confused with a self-build car, only Rocketeer-built cars carry their vehicle badging and have individual identification plaques. Utilising a blueprinted Jaguar AJ30 3.0L V6 engine (from Jaguar S/ X-Type) producing 291bhp, which is lightweight, compact, and rev-happy. No more kilos are added to the front end, and therefore the balance is unaffected. But you get roughly twice the power of a standard Mazda engine, plus the considerable added benefit of a glorious six-cylinder soundtrack with improved throttle response. Based on a 1994 Eunos, stripped down underneath and undersealed, this example was regarded as one of, if not the best example base car Rocketeer had seen in their workshop. Tuned on a standalone ECU with a host of supporting upgrades. Lightweight inlet manifold system with custom designed exhaust headers into a Cobalt exhaust system. The chassis features new steering components, ball joints and bushes, along with Meister-R Zeta coilover suspension, set-up by Rocketeer. The beautiful British Racing Green coachwork has been enhanced and protected with Paint Protection Flm applied to the front end by Wrapworks - including bonnet, wings, bumper, screen frame, headlights and ceramic coating applied to the remaining bodywork. Finished off with a Mohair Hood, Alcantara trimmed interior panels with Jass Performance stainless interior finishers throughout and a Nardi 330mm Steering wheel. Our cars receive an intensive exterior/interior detail - ask us to add a ceramic coating - 12 month/48 month or INFINITE Gyeon coatings available.
